5 Things Causing Your Period Problems

The simple way to balance your hormones is to balance your life.

Everything we do, eat, drink and think effects our hormones.

I don't say that to scare you, I say that to empower you.

Your hormones are complicated and there's no one pill that will fix everything. The secret is to balance your life because in doing so, you'll balance your hormones.

Imagine an old-school set of scales, and everything that you do, eat, drink and think has its own little weight. When you do things that negatively influence your hormones the weight goes to the side of Period Problems.

When you do things that support your hormones the weight goes to the side of Happy Hormones and problem free periods.

When you continually do things (put weight) on the side of Happy Hormones you'll tip the scales and hey presto: no more Period Pain or PMS.

When you continue to support your hormones, there will come a time when you have the luxury of doing pretty much anything you want because your scales are so heavily weighted towards Happy Hormones. This is where I'm living right now and this is what I teach women to do.

For the last 3 years I've been consciously choosing to eat, drink, think and have habits that put weight on the side of Happy Hormones. This means I have a more resilient body, so much so that even when I eat and drink things that I know will put weight on the Period Problems side of the scale, I don't get Period Pain or PMS. Now, obviously there is a limit to this but let me tell you EVERYTHING gets easier!

Most of us unknowingly do things that damage our delicate hormonal balance, that is to say we do things that put weight on the Period Problems side of the scale.

So, here's 5 things you might not realise are putting weight on the Period Problems side of your scales:

  • intermittent fasting, or skipping meals

  • high intensity workouts during your menstrual and luteal phases

  • dieting, counting calories, cutting carbs

  • using conventional cleaning products with EDCs

  • not getting enough sleep

Is this is your normal?

Are you unintentionally contributing to your imbalanced hormones?

Have you unknowingly placed weight on the Period Problem side of the scales?

When your scales are tipped in the direction of PMS induced moodiness, anxiety that rears it's ugly head just before your period, sore boobs, bloating, headaches, acne in the middle of your cycle or when you get your period, period cramps, or heavy flow, you feel crap. So many of the women I work with tell me their loosing days, even weeks every month to their Period Problems but you don't have to. Period Problems are not something you just have to deal with, there are so many things you can do to tip the scales in your favour.

If you want to naturally eliminate your Period Pain & PMS then it helps to start looking at your everyday choices and understand that the things you do, eat, drink and think can positively or negatively effect you.

It does take time to balance your scales but eventually you can tip them in the direction of Happy Hormones and symptom free cycles.
