What is a Health Coach?

A health coach is somewhere between a personal trainer and a life coach. We focus on food and lifestyle because we believe a holistic integrated approach to health is the best way to live a vibrant, happy and healthy life.

What makes a Health Coach different from other health practitioners?

Nutritionists can give you a list of foods to eat and a list of foods to avoid. Most people already know the basics but they haven’t been able to actually make the changes. Deciding you want to be healthy and actually getting healthy is a journey made easier with the ongoing support of a health coach. 

Therapists don’t typically address food in relation to mood - sometimes you don’t mean to get angry and say the wrong thing, maybe you were just hangry? Blood sugar levels have a lot to answer for and health coaching can help you stabiles food related mood swings.

Doctors address acute problems as a last line of defence. They diagnose and prescribe but for the most part don’t have the time it takes to sit with patients, to guide them and support them through ongoing food and lifestyle changes.

Health Coaches address the root causes and guide clients through a holistic approach to healing and disease prevention. A health coach will permeate every facet of your life, from your daily moods, to how you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror, to how your work-life or relationships affect you.

Health coaching gives you the tools to help you recognise what your body is trying to tell you by understanding your innate guidance system. It does not replace other health practitioners, it sits at the foundation of other modalities looking at your life as a whole. It integrates all facets of your life and helps you become an expert on yourself and your own body.

As a health coach I hold space and I facilitate change.

While working with a health coach you will come to a new understanding of how everything you think, everything you feel, everything you eat, everything you do and everything in your environment contributes to your overall health. You will begin to understand what your body needs and how to support its functioning in order to live without pain and the symptoms of disease.

Health coaching is for you if you’ve tried everything and seen only little improvements. It’s for you if you want more out of your life but don’t know where to start. It’s for you if you’re fed up living in pain or wondering where your energy and zest for life went.

A health coach cannot test, treat or diagnose disease. We do not replace your doctors expertise, we educated and guided you to make change spesific to you and your life circumstances.

A health coaching program is both super simple and truly complex.

It will challenge you.

It may require you stepping out of your comfort zone to make changes.

In our busy high functioning society it’s easy to forget that physical pain is not normal. Bloating, acne, mood swings, period pain are all signs that your body is out of homeostasis. Working with a health coach will help you address the root cause of the symptoms and in time you will watch them melt away.
